President’s manifesto will be out shortly – Media Minister
The Policy manifesto of President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the presidential candidate, formulated with the aim of developing the country, will be out in the next two weeks, Minister of Media Lakshman Yapa Abewardena told a media briefing held at the Ministry of Mass Media and Information today (23).
He said arrangements have been made to release the policy statement in next two weeks.He pointed out that the statement gave priority to improve the standard of education and further solve the unemployment issue and it will be a policy that would enable all Sri Lankans to live in a peaceful country, irrespective of all differences.
Students who did not succeed in entering Universities after sitting the Ordinary and Advance Level examinations will be afforded opportunities to engage in vocational training.It is also targeted at developing the infrastructure of the country. Five ports will be constructed at the same time in addition to an airport. Other infrastructure is already in place. These will ensure a brighter and prosperous future.
