Symposium on Prophet Muhammad mercy to humanity
Symposium on Prophet Muhammad mercy to humanity was held at BMICH on 7.3.2010. the symposium was organized in commemoration of the Birth of Prophet Muhammad with the objective of introducing the prophet Muhammad and his teachings to the non Muslims and to initiate a discussion on religions and issues connected to communities in Sri lanka.
The symposium was chaired by Dr. Saiful Islam, director of Markazussalama. Dr. Saiful Islam while welcoming the resource persons and the participants outlined the objectives of the symposium and introduced the resource persons.
Dr. M.A.M.Shukry Director of Jamiah Nelemiah delivered speeches on the topics Socio political personality of prophet Muhammad, Comparative study between the Philosophy of Lord Buddha and Philosophy of prophet Muhammad and Relevance of prophet Muhammad to the contemporary world respectively.
Academics in the calibre of Professor A. Marks from India, senior professor Daya Edirisinhe, head of the department of philosophy, University of Kelaniya also participated the symposium was organized organized by Markazussalama.
